CRJC 335 - Media and Crime

This course will explore the relationship between media and crime. Students will critically analyze various forms of media through the use of content analysis and case studies. The overall focus will be the social construction of perceptions of criminals, victims, and the criminal justice system, as well as how the media is used as a tool of social control and how it affects criminal justice policy.
Prerequisite: CRJC 200  or PSYC 210  or SOCI 210
