BIOL 450 - Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Genomics Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0
This course will cover advances in plant breeding, genetics, and genomics with applications to agriculture. Topics include principles and methods of plant breeding, construction of genetic linkage maps comprised of molecular and other genetic markers, methods for mapping genes underlying phenotypically complex traits, methods of DNA sequencing, physical mapping, genomic libraries construction, comparative genomics, and positional cloning are also discussed. Prerequisite: BOTN 210 and BOTN 210L and ZOOL 310 and ZOOL 310L
