This course focuses on developing secure web-based applications, including vulnerability assessments and mitigations of security breaches of web applications. Topics include discussions on client/server and World Wide Web; security considerations for small businesses, home and personal use of web applications; secure web-enabled application deployment and social networking; mitigating web site risks, threats, and vulnerabilities; web application security consortium and Open Source Web Application Security Project (OWASP); mitigating web application vulnerabilities; securing mobile communications; and web application security organizations.
Prerequisite: CSC 206 , CSC 290 , and STAT 270
