This course introduces the main manufacturing methods and technology that are being utilized in industry. It will illustrate how a design is turned into a product. It will offer a detailed understanding of manufacturing processes used in industry such as casting, molding, forming, cutting, and welding and will relate the design requirements of a part to the possible manufacturing processes. It will also highlight major design guidelines for each manufacturing process to be successful. Prerequisite: MATS 204
