CSC 513 - Natural Language Processing Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0
The course provides a solid foundation in natural language processing. It covers the key concepts underlying NLP applications as well as the main NLP paradigms and techniques. Topics include regular expressions, unigrams, and n-grams; word embeddings; syntactic (phrase-structure) and dependency parsing; semantic role labeling; language modeling; sentiment, and applications of machine learning to language processing and generation. A background in linguistics and machine learning is provided in the course. Prerequisite: CSC 510 - Machine Learning and Data Science
