Program Requirements
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Overall minimum GPA of 2.7 (3.0 preferred) on 4.0 scale for all undergraduate work or minimum 2.75 (3.0 preferred) on 4.0 scale in last 60 hours of study which may include no more than 12 hours graduate study.

Professional Education Core Courses: 18 Credits
Secondary Education Major Core: 21 Credits
Choose section of EDUC 467 based on specialty areas. READ 320, EDUC 455, and EDUC 467 may not be taken until student is admitted to Teacher Education. EDUC 490 and EDUC 497 may not be taken until student is admitted to Clinical Experience (Student Teaching) and must be taken during last and final semester.
Specialty Area Requirements: 43 Credits
Core Academic Skills for Educators Test Requirement
Required for students with less than 2.7 Undergraduate GPA.
PRAXIS Core Academic Skills for Educators: Reading (5712)—Score 156
PRAXIS Core Academic Skills for Educators: Writing (5722)—Score 162
PRAXIS Core Academic Skills for Educators: Mathematics (5732)—Score 150 or a composite score of 468
PRAXIS II and edTPA Requirement
PRAXIS II Test: 5235 Biology: Content Knowledge—Score 150
And PRAXIS II Test: 5624 Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 7-12—Score 157 or passing edTPA score
